Field Day
Field Day was a great success thanks to Mr. Endy, the Belmont Staff and parent volunteers!  Students learned about health facts and had a great time moving, shooting hoops, throwing bean bags and so much more.  A great big thanks to Mr. Endy for coordinate a fantastic event of moving and learning.
Bionic Eagles
The Bionic Eagles participated in an off-season/unofficial CNU STEM FLL scrimmage 2015 on Saturday, May 30th at Christopher Newport University in Newport News. This event was open to all interested groups. There were approximately 14 teams participating in the scrimmage. There were 7 that competed on the Veteran level and 7 that competed in the Beginner level.
Belmont Elementary sent two teams: a veteran team ( Samantha Dauberman and Tavon Massenburg) and a beginner team (Xavier Silva and Logan Harrity). The scrimmage offered two areas of competition: a robot performance and an informal robot design. The Beginner team won 1st place in Robotic Design and 2nd place in missions.
Last year in this event, CNU STEM FLL Scrimmage 2014 the Veteran team (Abid Ahmen and Valen Shanmuganathan) won 1st place in missions and 2nd place in Robotic Design. The beginner team (Allison Forythe and Tristan Huynh) won 1st place in Missions and 1st place in Robotic Design.
During and after both events the Bionic Eagles enjoyed participating in the interactive STEM events and engaging in the STEM activities.
Richard Clemmons, Bionic Eagles coach, would like to thank two OUTSTANDING mothers (sons:  Logan and Tristan) who have given a great deal of their precious time, their infinite energy and their priceless resources to the Bionics Eagles in the past year.  He would like to recognize both Theressa Herrity and Leah Huynh for all they have done.  The team's success would not have occurred without them!

Coach Clemmons has worked hard with the Bionic Eagles and continues to bring home trophies each year.  We would like to thank Mr. Clemmons for his hard work and dedication to the Bionic Eagles.  THANK YOU  COACH CLEMMONS!

Spring Beautificatioin
Look how BEAUTIFUL our front lawn looks! We want to give a special thank you to Ms. Desiree Morris for her organization and leadership. The Belmont Eagles would like to say a great big thank you for all the volunteers who came out to work with us because "Many hands make for light work": Over a dozen volunteers came out to work from Christ Chapel Academy, Ms. Orellana, Kimberly Garcia, Erick Quintanilla, Mr. and Mrs. Quintanilla, Mr. and Mrs. Kempf, Mr. Turnquist, Ms. Connolly, Ms. Manzano, Ms. Enoch and Mrs. Hudson. We want to thank the Quintanilla family for donating the beautiful hostas. We also want to thank Melody Gomez’ family for donating the large palet of Liriope that now lines our entire front and side lawn. The volunteers enjoyed the Krispy Kreme Donuts from the Tran family. We truly appreciate the team work and dedication to making Belmont look so spectacular.

Attention Parents of Fifth Graders

Attention Parent of Current 5th graders!

The Tdap booster vaccine is required for all students entering 6th grade before the start of school in August 2015. The Prince Williams County Health Department will be at Belmont Elementary on Friday May 1st, 2015 to administer free Tdap vaccine to all students with completed permission forms. It is not required that your child participate in the free clinic , however meeting this requirement as soon as possible will help your child have a smooth transition to middle school. If your child has not received the vaccine before the end of the current school year, then you will need to take the paperwork to the middle school once your child has received the vaccine. Unfortunately, no sixth grade student will receive their home room assignment until the Middle school has written verification of the Tdap immunization. These students will be excluded from school in August until immunization requirement is satisfied. Even if your student is only 10 yrs old in August, they will still need to get the 10 yr old vaccine.

Please contact the school nurse with any questions.
